Born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia, Dominic attended Westminster School, where his passion for agriculture first developed. However, he did not pursue this career path until later in life.
After leaving school, Dom undertook his real estate studies and obtained his real estate licence in 1989. In 1990, he became a licensed and registered Land Agent. He began his career in residential real estate before transitioning into commercial real estate sales, leasing, and management.
With further study completed, in 2001, Dominic completed a Diploma of Financial Markets through the Securities Institute.
After approximately 15 years in the real estate industry, he moved into various business management roles across South Australia and the Northern Territory.
In the year 2002 Dom became involved in a greenfield agricultural venture in the Upper South East and later moving on to a cattle enterprise on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Upon returning from the Northern Territory in 2017, Dom’s agricultural career took him across Western Australia (Mid-West & Wheatbelt regions), Queensland (Charleville), and back home to South Australia (Lower Eyre Peninsula), where he was involved in large scale continuous cropping enterprises.
When not working, Dom enjoys spending his time on the farm with his life partner, Moira and their small cattle herd with the occasional social game of tennis, and entertaining friends and family in the kitchen.
Having come full circle, Dom has now rejoined the property industry as part of the team at Spence Dix & Co.
